Temporary two
visas are also appropriate for non-Brazilian citizens traveling to Brazil for the purpose
of adopting a Brazilian child.
The supporting documents are:
1) a notarized letter from the prospective adoptive parent(s) indicating:
* personal (name, nationality, passport
number);
* travel (carrier, flight number and date of
arrival); and
* adoption information (locality of adoption,
name, address and telephone number of the attorney
in charge of the
process);
2) a valid passport or permit to reenter the US;
* non-US citizens are additionally
requested to present one of the following:
- a US resident
alien card or
- a valid entry
visa to the US
3) two filled out copies of a visa application form
provided by the Consulate;
4) two recent passport-type photographs;
5) a round trip ticket to Brazil or an itinerary print-out from a carrier or travel agent
attesting to the
acquisition of the flight ticket, with flight information and date of
departure to Brazil.
An ADOPTION visa extends for
a period needed to accomplish the adoption proceedings and is also subject to a consular
fee of US$60.00, plus the applicable fees.
