
DEATH REGISTRATION AND/OR
IN ORDER TO REGISTER A BRAZILIAN CITIZENS
DEATH, a relative
or familys representative must come to the Consulate General of Brazil with the
original Death Certificate, the deceaseds Brazilian passport or ID, and must be able
to provide the following information related to the deceased: address, occupation, widow
or widowers name, names and birth of children, if any, if a will or any assets were
left and if the deceased was eligible to vote. The person in charge of the registration
must bring his personal Brazilian ID and will be asked to sign the registration. The
registration is free of charge. IN CASE OF TRANSFERENCE OF HUMAN REMAINS TO BRAZIL, besides the registration above
mentioned, the Brazilian authorities require the legalization of the following documents
by the Consulate General of Brazil:
AS FOR CREMATION, the legalization of the following
documents are required by the Brazilian authorities:

that the ashes be contained in a sealed and insulated urn.
A
consular fee of US$ 20.00 will be charged for each legalized document. The Consulate
General accepts cash or money order, payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF
BRAZIL. |
