Press Correspondent Visa

A PRESS CORRESPONDENT (Temporary Six) visa applies to media professionals (and accompanying dependents) assigned to Brazil as foreign correspondents of media corporations.

The Consulate will request the applicant to present the following supporting documents:

  • a valid (not expiring within 6 months) passport or permit to reenter the US;
  • a completely filled out and signed visa application form in the original (faxes are not accepted). Make sure your signature on the form is the same as the one on your passport;
  • one recent passport-type photographs;
  • "Good Conduct Certificate" (the original form must be legalized by the Consulate at US$20.00 per document) issued by the State Police Department with jurisdiction over the applicant's place of residence;
  • a letter from the media corporation;
  • marriage certificate;
  • birth certificate;
  • legalization by the Consulate (at US$20.00 per document) of all foreign documents.

     *   Non-US citizens are additionally requested to present one of the following:

- a US resident alien card or
- a valid entry visa authorizing work in the US.

A PRESS CORRESPONDENT visa may extend up to 4 years and is subject to a consular fee of US$20.00, plus applicable fees (see section Entry Visas General Information).
