Transit Visa

A TRANSIT visa is meant for non-Brazilian citizens stopping in Brazil on the way to a third country for longer than normal travel connections would require. The issuance of a TRANSIT visa requires the following supporting documents:

  • a valid (not expiring within 6 months) passport already containing a visa for the onward country of destination, if needed;

  • a filled out copy of a visa application form provided by the Consulate;

  • one recent passport-type photograph;

  • a ticket or itinerary print-out from a carrier or travel agent attesting to the acquisition of the ticket, with flight or vessel identification and dates of transit through Brazil and onward destination.

A TRANSIT visa allows for a single entry of a maximum of ten days and is subject to a consular fee varying from US$20.00 to US$150.00 plus the applicable fees (see section Entry Visas General Information).
